Joan and I connected about a year ago when I started working at the cleaners. I still can’t believe she’s no longer with us. I loved her so much, I enjoyed talking to her about everything in life. She was very special, fun and sweet. We loved talking about food, fashion, jewelry, hair and movies. I’m going to miss her and miss her telling me stories so much.
Until we meet again my sweet friend. I know you’re in a better place wrapped in Jesus’ arms.
I love you dearly! ♥️
We have never met anyone so full of life, joy and laughter in our lives. Joan was a beautiful woman thru and thru. She was kind to everyone and a very loving person.
She will be missed by everyone, and she was a fighter until the end. but she is with her family and friends in a place that we would look to see also someday.

My friend, know the hurt that you having. Some say that they know how you are feeling, However until they have a walk in our shoes, they really don’t . We have shared some fun times, and some sad times No one hear on earth can take away your pain, but We know a MAN WHO CAN. You know in your heart, that is not the end, for the beginning awaits, for you and Miss Joan to see each other again. Enough said, love you my friend.
Your friend in Christ Ray
Wilson and family, My love and prayers go out to you all. Joan was beautiful inside and out. I loved having our talks they sure were special. Its still hard to believe because it was so quick. God had a plan and now Joan is healed. We will all miss her but knowing we will see her again really helps. Love you my friend.
Met Joan many years ago through my sister when they worked at Libery Life. I was so excited when y’all came to Bessie Rd Baptist to join us and now I will miss Joan but know it’s only for a little while. Love to you Wilton and your family and prayers.
Joan was the best and I am proud to say I knew her. You guys have the love for each other many dream of. There are no words of comfort except to know that she is with God now and forever in our hearts. If you ever need anything, let me know. Sending Love and Prayers
Joan and I were great friends immediately when we met at Liberty Life (around 1968). We worked together, shopped together, went to the beach together, visited regularly all those years ago. Until last year, I had not seen her since my daughter’s birth (she’s 45). But last year we were finally able to meet for lunch. It was as if we had never been apart. We talked for 4 hours (through lunch and the restaurant was getting ready for the dinner hours!) We planned to do it again and again but unfortunately we never “got around to it”. I was completely floored when I learned just how serious her cancer was and so disappointed that I didn’t get to spend time with her. I’m so happy that she is my sister in Christ and is now reaping her rewards at the feet of Jesus! Wilton, I’m so glad that she had a good husband and a Godly leader. I know you are going to miss her (she was so full of life and so much fun). Praying for you, Joan’s brothers, Mike and Larry, your children and here nieces and nephews. I was hoping to come today to the service but can’t get away from work. Praying for you in the days, weeks and months ahead. May you feel God’s presence and peace.
