Jessica Leigh Martin

Jessica L. Martin, 31, of Simpsonville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 21, 2026 while at home surrounded by her family.

Born in Tomball, TX, Jessica was a daughter of Roger & Linda Martin. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Simpsonville.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her twin sister, Jenna Murphy and her husband, Carter, and her brother, Chris Martin; her nieces and nephews, Joseph, Elijah, Annamarie, and Onix Murphy; her grandparents, Jack & Vicky Graves; and her beloved dog, Tony.

Jessie got her undergraduate degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University in FL, her Master’s degree from Taylor University in IN and was pursuing her PHD from Baylor University in TX.

Her passion has always been in serving the youth in their pursuit of Christ and she, personally, pursued excellence in every area of her life. Jess loved to learn and master new skills whether it was cooking, playing guitar or woodworking.

The Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11:00 am in the Calvary Baptist Church, Worship Auditorium, 3810 Grandview Dr, Simpsonville, SC 29680. The family will receive friends following the service. The service will also be live streamed on her Facebook page.

    Jess was such a light to everyone around her. I knew her recently as I was journeying through my own brain tumor season. She even brought my nurses cookies after my craniotomy. She was kind and thoughtful like that. The world is a darker place without her, but I know she is celebrating in heaven.
