Eleanor Poulos Bennett

Eleanor Poulos Bennett, 90, of Mauldin, wife of Thomas Wilson Bennett, died on Friday, January 29, 2021 following an illness in Assisted Living and the McCall Hospice House.

Born in Sumter, SC on September 27, 1930, she was a first generation Greek Lady whose parents migrated to America in 1920 from Megalo Horio, Greece. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her husband, Thomas, she is survived by a daughter, Eva C. Bennett and a son, Dennis L. Bennett, all of Mauldin.

Tom and Eleanor were married sixty-seven years and loved church and traveling, having driven to all forty-eight contiguous states, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico. Eleanor made two trips to Greece.

A Private Funeral Service will be held for the family in the Mauldin UMC Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held later.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: Camp Spearhead, in care of the Greenville Recreation District or to Mauldin United Methodist Church.

    My Aunt Eleanor will be dearly missed. I am so glad that we got to know her so well over the last 15 years that we have lived in Blairsville. She was a lady of great grace, understanding, wit and humor. I will always chersh the stories and history of my family she shared with my wife and I. Prayers for her family.
