Born in Moedling, Austria, he was the son of Andreas & Gabriele Smetana Lehnhofer.

Dom was a bright spot in my days at O’Charley’s in Simpsonville. He had a good heart! My prayers are with you, his parents, as I know your hearts are broken.

To Dom’s family, So very sorry to hear that Dom had been taken from this world much too soon. I always had wonderful talks wit Dom at the Coach House, We would talk about things going on around Fountain In and Simpsonville. He was an intresting fellow to talk with. I’m so sorry for your loss! Dom was one of a kind and was always smiling. He loves to show off all his cool gadgets from his trips to Bin Time. He will truly be missed by many. My prayers are with y’all!

It’s been several years since he’s passed but the loss burns just as sharply as it did the day it happened. I loved Dom dearly. He was my best friend. He even used to attend holidays occasionally at my family’s homes. When this all happened, a young lady gave me some horribly wrong information which stirred up anger and confusion and I made a few posts on his Facebook that I now regret. I didn’t understand why he didn’t have a service and this girl made it seem like it was because no one cared and it hurt my soul. I hinted to as much in a post I made about how he deserved better but it wasn’t nor is it now my place to judge the choices his grieving family made. So I apologize from the bottom of my heart. I just loved him so very much. He always looked out for me. He gave me solid advice and was always supportive of me. He would also not ever hesitate to tell me when he thought I was making a mistake. And I loved that about him. Dom actually saved me from being raped one night in Wilmington after we went out to a bar and I got into a bad situation. I called him and he raced to my location and made sure I made it home safely. Dom was a beautiful person with a heart of gold and the best sense of humor. I miss him often and talk to him still when I feel lost. Life hasn’t been the same since he left us…and I look forward to seeing him again on the other side. I love you.
