My Uncle Dale, was the father I never had! His passion for motorcycle and loving the challenge in building one of a kind, once in a life time rides! Lead me from the time I was 13 years old being at the bottom in H&D Cycles of Greenville, to years later becoming the dream builder I became building them from the ground up! Winning every show we enter, Longshot Custom Choppers of Myrtle Beach! We had one last build to do that’s been sitting for some years, a stoker! To race across the bridge and back! Beating the old pan head built like no other! Never will a day go by that you aren’t with me, heart , mind, body, and souI I love you always and forever! We were planning a ride, he was looking at this 3 wheeler here in Little River, he was checking with the Doc to see if just maybe we had the time left for that ONE LAST RIDE! TOGETHER!
if you ever had the chance to meet such a man, he would change your life just from words of wisdom….
I love you and will look forward to riding with you and Momma, I can see you and Alioop, aka your sister riding down HWY 1 .
When Dale was six and I was thirteen, I remember wanting to get closer to him. I placed the soles of my feet gently on his tummy, like playing with a baby, and lifted him like an airplane, swaying him right and left. We laughed so much together — it is still a precious memory for me.
Each time we met afterward, I wanted to ask, “Do you remember that?” but in the end, I never managed to ask.
May he rest in peace.
Dale, you were living beneath a distant sky.
Though we could not be by your side, we share the same blood.
You will never be forgotten.
We sincerely pray that you may rest in peace.
