Dale was my mother’s cousin. He was warm, kind, and very dear to me. I still remember the first day I met him. We met only twice and it was long ago, but those moments will always remain in my memory. My heart is with his family during this difficult time. I send my prayers from across the ocean.

  • When Dale was six and I was thirteen, I remember wanting to get closer to him. I placed the soles of my feet gently on his tummy, like playing with a baby, and lifted him like an airplane, swaying him right and left. We laughed so much together — it is still a precious memory for me.

Each time we met afterward, I wanted to ask, “Do you remember that?” but in the end, I never managed to ask.

    May he rest in peace.
