W. Wayne Malone
William Wayne Malone, 91, of Mauldin, SC, husband of Marceline ‘Marcie’ Moss Malone, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 20, 2025. Up until the very end he maintained his love for his family and friends and a deep appreciation for those that cared for him.
He was born in Greensboro, NC, he was the son of the late William P. and Lula Moore Malone. Greensboro is where he met the love of his life, Marcie, who he married and where they raised their three daughters. Later in life, they moved to Mauldin, SC where they enjoyed almost 40 years. Through those years they established many lifelong friendships. He was a member of the Gate City Jaycees, the Free Masons and attended Mauldin First Baptist Church. Earlier in life he sang in a gospel quartet.
Wayne loved to be with people, he never met a stranger. Throughout his life he was always willing to help those in need. Some of his favorite places would be any golf course, a fishing pier at the beach or his back patio where he could watch the birds. His ability to see the beauty in the world around him was shown in his paintings and sketch work. As an avid traveler and tour bus driver, he loved seeing the different parts of the country and meeting those passengers that he carried. He always loved meeting his buddies for breakfast and sharing a few jokes and solving the problems of the world. His happiest times were when he was with Marcie and their daughters, their husbands, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by three daughters, Sherrie McLoughlin (Brian), Cindy Oliver, and Nola Jackson (Tony); five grandchildren, Ashley Oliver, Josh Jackson, Will Jackson (Carley), Michael McLoughlin (Rachel), and Patrick McLoughlin (Bella); and three great grandchildren, Milo Jackson, Jett Jackson, and Seve Jackson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Shannon Oliver; four sisters and nephew.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home – Simpsonville; 313 North Main Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Upstate Warrior Solution.

Marcie and family,
You have my deepest sympathy. Wayne was special to me as I know you know.
Always there on the road, to answer questions, make me laugh, and a shoulder to cry on.
I tried to remember to call him on his birthday and I would call him to pray with me for whatever reason I had on my heart.
You’re in my prayers.

Marcie, Cindy and family. Our hearts are heavy for your loss. Wayne was a very special gentleman. Our loving God now has a wonderful tour bus driver for His heavenly tours.
What a privilege is was to know Wayne Malone! He was so kind, attentive, friendly, smiling always! We especially enjoyed the couple of bus trips we went on with him, having a good time laughing and talking over meals, just a good time! We’ll be thinking of you, dear friend, Marcie, as you go through this time and the future when so many decisions have to be made. Blessings to you and your daughters! Love, Elizabeth and Jim Meaders
Marceline, Sherry, Nola and Cindy. I have so many memories of Wayne in our days at Florida St. He would always bring up the man that was ‘overly dramatic’ in the choir LOL. He was always smiling and would make ME smile. I wish so much that I could be at the service and see yall, but we will be on the road to AR to see Ken and mom for Thanksgiving. Please know that I love you all and will keep you close in my prayers. ❤️🙏
Marceline, Sherry, Cindy, Nola,
I will never forget my first trip with the Hoppers to work their product table for the National Quartet Convention in Louisville. I was working the product table, looked up and there stood Wayne grinning from ear to ear. I was so excited to see him and had to get a hug. He had brought a tour group up for the week. Lots of sweet memories of your entire family. Love y’all and keeping you in my prayers.
Love ❤️ and Prayers to your Wonderful Family
