Susan Cooper Pinckney

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Susan Cooper Pinckney, 76, of Simpsonville, who left this world peacefully on the evening of August 6, 2025, surrounded by love.

A lifelong caregiver in every sense, Susan dedicated 36 years of her professional life to serving others as a labor and delivery nurse. Her hands were the first to welcome countless new lives into the world, and her heart was a constant source of compassion and calm for those in her care. She was not only a skilled nurse but also a nurturer, a listener, and a quiet source of strength for both patients and colleagues. Susan loved the beach, where the sound of the waves and the salty breeze always brought her peace. Her warmth and kindness were as endless as the ocean, and her love will stay with us forever.

She is survived by her devoted husband, William Eustace Bellenger Pinckney III, with whom she shared a life full of enduring love, laughter, and deep companionship. Together they built a family rooted in love, faith, and generosity.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Virginia and Renzie Cooper, her dear sister, Carolyn Brown, and her cherished son, Michael Cooper Pinckney. Though they are deeply missed, their bond remains unbroken, and they are now joyfully reunited in peace

She is lovingly remembered by her three grandchildren, Renzie Pinckney, Jannie Binns, and Cooper Pinckney, as well as her great granddaughter Vivian Binns, who knew her as a steady presence full of warmth, encouragement, and gentle wisdom. She is survived by her sister, Sharon Osment, and by her loving niece and nephews, who will forever remember her kindness and warmth. Her love for her family was the guiding light of her life. She found joy in the simple and profound: time around the dinner table, meaningful conversation, summer trips to the beach, and the everyday practices of love that hold families together.

To those who knew her, Susan will be remembered as deeply kind, endlessly caring, and profoundly generous. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond the walls of healthcare and into every relationship she touched. She was the type of person who always showed up, was a listening ear, or a quiet gesture of support.

Her life was a testament to the quiet power of kindness and the enduring strength of love.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Cannon Byrd Funeral Home – Simpsonville, 313 N. Main St., Simpsonville, SC.

The family will receive friends following the service.
