Steven E. Worthy

Steve Worthy, 64, of Gray Court, was a devoted husband of Debra Holloway Worthy for 47 years.  He went to be with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Lawrence M. & Sarah Brown Worthy.

In addition to his wife, Debra, he is survived by their son, Jason, and his wife, Leah, of Powdersville; two grandchildren, Dean and Laile Worthy; and his niece, Kim Worthy Hakes (Vern) of GA.

Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Keith M. Worthy.

Steve loved God, his family, and his church.  He was a lifelong member of Temple Baptist Church.  Steve was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He enjoyed camping in the great outdoors, especially at Calhoun Falls State Park.  Steve was a dedicated and loyal employee for 46 years of a leading manufacturer of high performance adhesive sealants.  Last, and certainly not least, he was a devoted Clemson Tiger fan.

Debra , Brenda and I am so sorry to here of Steven passing. We remember Steve as we called him when he was just a young man about fourteen or fifteen playing in our yard and as we moved to Hamlet NC he and another neighborhood good friend rode with me in the uhaul truck to help unload the truck. He was always so pleasant to be around. I know he will be missed and we hope and pray that GOD will be close bye in this sad time William and Brenda Lancaster

Debra, Sonny and I continue our prayers for you and the family. We were so sad to hear Steve’s Homecoming was planned and celebrated before we were able to have more time to get to know him. But we do know that he loved you, that always shown through as he spoke your name. He is and will be watching over you always. His love for the Lord was always evident in his words and as he spoke of Him. He now knows a lot that we still have questions about. We can only imagine for now. Until then, we keep believing and knowing God is Good and and is always near by. Please know that we are here anytime you may need us. We love you, Sonny and Dianne
