Shirley G. Finney

Shirley G. Finney, 83, of Fountain Inn, widow of Harvey Hugh Finney, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday morning, January 15, 2019 while at home surrounded by her family.

Born in Marshall, NC, she was a daughter of the late Garland P. Goforth and Ethel Anderson Goforth.

Mrs. Finney is survived by her sons, Pastor Tony Finney and his wife, Lynn, of Fountain Inn, and David Finney and his wife, Fonda, of Central; her daughter, Sandy Wright and her husband, Pete, of Newland, NC; six grandchildren, Amanda (Jon) Weatherill, Joshua (Ashley) Finney, Adam (Lydia) Morris, Paul Morris, Jonathan (Jennifer) Finney, and Michelle (Mitch) Feghaly; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Daniel Finney; and one great-granddaughter, Ava Finney.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 5:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Conestee.

The family will receive friends starting at 3:00 PM at the church prior to the service.

Burial will be in Winston Salem, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: Crossroads Rescue Mission, 206 Mt Sinai Church Rd, Shelby, NC 28152.

    Tony and Lynn,, Mike and I just learned of Shirley’s passing tonight ( I was listening to a video of Bro Tony speaking and a comment he made of her last year here. Found the obituary. We are so sorry to hear about her death but know she’s rejoicing in heaven. She could keep you laughing whenever you were around her. We have a lot of memories going to her and Hugh’s home in Winston Always loved being around her. I know she is missed by her family
