Rudolph Charles Hardwick

Rudolph Charles Hardwick, 104, of Simpsonville, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018. He was the widower of Doris Marguerite Cox Hardwick. Rudolph was born in the Loris area of South Carolina to the late Ellis Hampton Hardwick and the late Lena Lula Lewis Hardwick. Mr. Hardwick retired from the Army in 1961 after severing over 20 years. While in the Army, he served in multiple airborne divisions, but he considered the 82nd Airborne Division his favorite.

Mr. Hardwick is survived by two sons, Ken Hardwick of Simpsonville, and Steven Hardwick (Randi) of Johns Island, SC; two grandsons, Kenneth Hardwick (Nacole Potts) of Brevard, NC and Travis Hardwick (Elizabeth) of Blythewood, SC; and four great-grandchildren, Anne, Adam, Laurel, and Allie.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Heritage Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 PM. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel.

Inurnment will be at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson.

    Prayers for the family and thanks to Comrade Hardwick for his service to this country. His gallantry and devotion to serve will never be forgotten.     Through the years, it was always a blessing to spend time with Rudolph and Marguerite. We always looked forward to their visits in Loris. After we moved to Colorado, Ken and I had special time visiting with them in their home at the beach. Thankful I am for both of them but remembering Rudolph especially at this time.
