Ronald L. ‘R2’ Riddle, Sr.

Ronnie Riddle, son of the late Hubert and Josie Riddle, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, at the age of 80 years old, while at home surrounded by his family.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Carolyn of 56 years; his children, Steve Garner, Rhonda Owens (Mack), Ronald “Chip” Riddle, Jr. (Linda); grandchildren Kim “Nikki” Childress, Stephen, Ashleigh, Parker, and David Garner, Ryan and Josh Riddle, and Heather Owens; and 14 great-grandchildren. Ronnie was predeceased in death by his sisters, Irene Sumner, Martha Wood, and Bobby Morgan; brothers Jack, Billy, and Jerry Riddle; and son Michael Garner.

Ronnie was born Jan. 30, 1938 in Woodruff, SC and resided in Simpsonville, SC for the past 51 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served onboard the USS DASHIELL during the Suez Canal Crisis. He later retired from Cryovac in Simpsonville after 41 years.

Ronnie greatly enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, golfing, coin collecting, and watching Clemson Tiger football.

Services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019 at Heritage Funeral Home in Simpsonville, SC. Visitation will be at 4:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 5:00 pm.
