Ronald Bruce Farber

Ronald B. Farber, 83, husband of Karen Farber for 58 years, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born in Warsaw, IN, he was a son of the late Lewis H. & Laura K. Farber. Mr. Farber was the youngest of 13 children. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, serving in the 94th Artillery 4th Armed Division in Germany during the Vietnam War era. He was a Marksman and received a letter of commendation for his high degree of proficiency.

If you knew Ron, you knew his routine—daily drives, friendly hellos to both old friends and new, and plenty of stories along the way. He often donned his signature hat—proudly declaring “Here comes trouble”—a fitting motto for his mischievous charm. Ron’s days were marked by simple pleasures. He always had gold coins and Necco wafers in his pocket, a love for bingo and scratch-offs, and a deep appreciation for a good western. Ron had a sweet tooth and loved an ice cream outing—whether it was with his wife, their pups, or his grandkids.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by their daughter, Teresa Briggs and her husband, Phillip; three grandchildren, Dr. Emily Yow (Ryan), Officer Ethan Briggs, and Cooper Briggs; two great-grandchildren, Brantley Yow, and Elliott Yow; and two sisters, Carol Weaver, and Beverly Smith.

Mr. Farber was preceded in death by seven sisters and three brothers. Ron was very, very loved and will be deeply missed.

The Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 2:00 pm at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Dr., Anderson, SC 29621.

We will miss Ronnie dearly. He was so loving, always happy to get out and have lunch with. He was very special to Sydney (niece). She enjoyed his humor from a very young age through adulthood. He was very special to our family.

So sorry to hear this! Ronald was a fighter throughout his life. He had been through so much and still loved his family, friends and dogs. His obit pretty much said everything. It’s what he enjoyed in his later years. He was a good guy and a good uncle to many nephews and nieces. He will be missed! He can truly be at peace after a long hard fight. Love you all!

For many years Ron came in to our shop everyday. He would run errands for us and Ron and I would make Fort Wayne parts runs, go after Ryder trucks, and many other road trips together. “It’s your turn to buy” was an everyday phrase from Ron and I, as we traded every other day of buying our fountain drinks. Great times!

Always my favorite uncle beginning as a youngster when Uncle Ronnie and I would stay up late on Fridays watching Sammy Terry fright night movies and he would sneak a Pepsi for me. So many fond memories and love for a great guy! Our prayers and thoughts are with you Aunt Karen and Teresa and family!
