    Roberto,
I will never forget the great times we had in Queretaro, Mexico where we met as expats. Lots of guitar playing, long nights at the plant where you were our OGEP “Tire Expert” keeping the plant alive, scaring you with my driving through red lights at night to avoid “problemas”, eating frijoles and tacos, and hanging out at Buddy’s on weekends to have a few Coronas and share some laughs with our friends. We will miss you. Que en paz descanses y que Dios te bendiga para siempre amigo mio. Your friend, Jim Waddill

I had the pleasure of sharing an office with Robert for 5-6 years when we started new roles at work. He was much more than a co-worker and often checked on me during recent health issues. He was one of the good guys you come across in life and will truly be missed.

  • Oh man. Gone too soon. What a solid guy and a good soul. Prayers go out to his family. We shall miss you “Big Rob.” ~ÉH

I worked with Robert for many years at Michelin. As others have said, he was a gentle and kind person with a caring spirit, always concerned for others. He started two groups at Michelin with the goal of caring for those with disabilities. He will be greatly missed, but we have the hope of Jesus Christ that we will see him again!

In Loving Memory of Robert Nicolas

It is with deep sorrow that we say goodbye to our dear colleague and friend, Robert Nicolas. Robert was the embodiment of kindness—gentle, helpful, and always caring for others. His compassion extended especially to those with disabilities, for whom he had a truly special heart.

Robert was a founding member of one of our Business Resource Groups, where his leadership and empathy helped shape a more inclusive workplace. Just a few weeks ago, we gathered to honor him with a farewell lunch, never imagining it would be our last supper together. His absence feels profoundly heavy.

Robert will be dearly missed—not only for the work he did, but for the warmth he brought into every room. His legacy of care and inclusion will live on in all of us.

My thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Robert and I were students together at Mauldin Elementary a long time ago. We always thought it was funny when we were in work meetings together at Michelin that we played together as children. I will forever remember his bright eyes, big smile, and jovial spirit. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him and may light perpetual shine upon him. My prayers are with his family and close friends.

I remember Rob and his way of greeting me with his cheerful and playful “woohoo”. He was a nice guy. It was easy to see he was a very intelligent man who was very clearly deeply involved in his work here at Michelin PRIME.

What is most important is to remember him not only for what he was able to accomplish and provide to those he worked with, but to consider who Rob was at his core: such a nice man.

It is clear, after reading Rob’s obituary, how much I didn’t know about him, and that is a sad thing. I will grieve for Rob, his family, and for how much I didn’t know about him. One thing I can say from my work experience with Rob and from the beautiful words shared with us in his obituary is this: he was a caring, kind man and he will be sorely missed.

I want to express to Rob: I’m sorry I didn’t get to know you more. To you Allysa, and all your and Rob’s children, I am deeply sorry this has happened.

I pray Lord, please bless Rob and his family and friends and grace them with the touch of your healing hands.
    Amen

  • Robert and I worked together for several years. He was a wonderful person. One of the nicest coworkers ever. Very supportive of the factory (I worked in the Dothan plant). So respectful.
I was so very sorry to hear of his passing. My prayers for his wife and family.

My prayers and healing thoughts for Robert’s family. In the few years that I worked with Robert, I came to discover his greatest gift. It shined through his kindness, his always extended helping hand, and his humility. Out of his love for his son, he brought visibility to the needs of many unseen hero’s – parents navigating a world that doesn’t fully support the role of caregiver. His mark on our world will always be remembered with love and compassion. Rest in peace Robert.
