I have known Mrs. Phyllis for many years. I work on the Bookmobile that goes to Rolling Green. She came every two weeks to check out books from us. How I will miss her kind words and her wit. I am sorry for the loss that her family is facing. I shall miss her also!!!

Phyllis was a great lady with a no nonsense take on things and a great sense of humor. She was a great mentor to me during time as an officer of the Guild of the Greenville Symphony. I will miss her.

I am sorry for you loss. Phyllis was one of the first Guild members I met when I moved to the Greenville area. Her dry wit would make my husband, Sherwood, howl with laughter. I always enjoyed her hugs and chats and will miss her terribly. I imagine she and Sherwood are laughing together even as I type this note. Prayers sent to those who loved her.

She was a lovely lady, and I’ll miss her smile and good humor.

  • Greenville Chautauqua is truly saddened that Phyllis is no longer with us. She has been coming the Chautauqua since the very beginning. Often when the RGV bus couldn’t come, Phyllis would pick up Doris and Marion and whomever else at RGV who wanted to go and drive them to the show. When we needed a wine taster for a fund raiser, it was at Phyllis’ house we sampled the choices. And she served on the Chautauqua board and attended every fundraise we ever had. She was so much fun that I always thought Phyllis was my age only to find from the obit that she was 20 years older. If you haven’t already held the Celebration of Life, please be sure to let me know and I’ll tell the rest of Chautauqua.
