Penny Raye Murphy

Penny Raye Murphy, 60, of Fountain Inn, widow of the late Richard “Rick” Murphy, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

Born in Phoenix, Arizona, she was a daughter of the late Kennith Price and Sharon Thompson.

She is survived by her five children, Enrique “Ricky”, Celeste (Joaquin Vargas), Andrea, LiSandra, and Erica; grandsons, Joaquin Julian “JJ” and Mateo; and a sister Peggy (John) Hager.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Kennith Raye Jr., and Aaron Andrew.

Penny was a beautiful soul, smart, kind-hearted, loving, giving and funny person, everyone loved her.  She loved spending time with her family and grandkids. She enjoyed working at Oakview cafeteria with her lunch ladies who she loved and admired. She was a devoted member at the Elevation Church and enjoyed spending time with her peers. In her earlier days she volunteered and served the Jr High and High School kids at her church. 

The Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 1:00 pm in the Cannon Byrd Funeral Home Fountain Inn Chapel.

The family will receive friends following the service.
