Paige Weaver McCarty

Paige Weaver McCarty, 69, humble servant of God, passed into His Presence, Saturday, January 8, 2022.  All who knew her experienced God’s love and acceptance through her kindness and generosity.  She used her gifts freely to serve others in countless behind-the-scenes ways: encouraging, helping, visiting, meals, giving thoughtful gifts, flower arranging, letter writing, affectionate words and careful listening…”all because of Christ’.

Paige was born in Macon, Georgia, daughter of Joanne Groover Weaver and the late Nollie Terrell Weaver, Jr.

Surviving is her mother of Macon, GA; her two brothers, Tee Weaver of Macon, GA and Joey (Lally) Weaver of Macon, GA; her four children, Martha Moore (Kevin) of Simpsonville, SC, Haddon Galindo (Jose) of Simpsonville, SC, Baird Sikkelee (Zach) of Taylors, SC, and Joseph McCarty (Meghan) of Pearland, TX; and her twelve grandchildren, Paul Laurence, Hannah, Jo Jo, Matthias, Lucas, Ethan, Isabella, Jonah, Ellie, Nora, Abigail, and Emma.

Paige was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Laurence (Larry) McCarty.

A private burial with the family will take place on Tuesday, January 11th and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Palmetto Hills Presbyterian Church in Simpsonville, SC beginning at 10:00 am.

Condolences to the family of Paige Weaver McCarty

  • Larry and Paige – yes, lovers of Jesus and each other and all their children!! They were the inspiration that got us into Ecuador and the ministries there…we loved them – and I had such an admiration for Paige!!
Our world has lost a beautiful saint and I am sure that she is joyously cooking, arranging heavenly flowers and enjoying the presence of her Savior, Jesus!!!

To know Paige, was to love Paige. Her heart for God and family was huge, inspiring and humbling. Her love of all God’s creatures and her many adventures with them always kept us entertained. My favorite part of family meals with her was to hear her pray as she blessed the food. Her walk and talk with the Lord is now happening face to face with her Savior. My heart hurts for the beautiful family she leaves behind, but her Godly legacy lives on in them. I was blessed to call her my friend and am blessed to be part of her family. May the love of friends give them comfort, may the love of God give us all peace.

We offer our deepest condolences dear McCarty family as Paige was also so dear to us. She opened her home to us when we were first married without even knowing us! I learned so much from her about cooking and catering. Her daughter Martha is my bosom friend and she came to help set up home in Albania when I first moved there as a missionary. Paige has always supported and prayed for us and we have always loved her strong personality, sense of humor, generous and humble spirit, and boldness for Christ and biblical convictions. We praise God for knowing Mama Paige and all her dear family. I miss her so much already🥲 and look forward to meeting her again in heaven✝️. We pray much comfort for all the family in this time of grief and love you💞🙏🕊️. God bless you.

It’s a chilly morn/day to lay your Daughter, Sister, and Mama’s body to rest. It is the longing of every heart that loves Jesus, to be “with” Jesus, to sit at His feet, and to worship Him. My heart is glad and sad. Martha, Haddon, Baird, Joseph…today, all day, in the days to come, my heart is with you in your sadness. May you remember that your Mom was redeemed by Jesus and is now glorified…forever perfect and beautiful, which, here in life, was only in part. For 18 years, your Mom, Paige, has never forgotten a birthday, special day, Christmas in coming alongside me in prayer and remembrance of my own family who is in Heaven. With all your hearts, love Jesus. With all your hearts, teach your children to love Jesus. Nothing in this life is more important than loving and following Jesus. The reality of the brevity of life is today and every day. Our life is fleeting and all that counts is to live life with Jesus as our heart’s greatest love and to let that love spill out and overflow to all those that God has put in your life. My love and prayers are with you. God’s strength and grace are real and sure. His peace is abiding and everlasting. Rest in Jesus! “ I have told you these things, so that in me (Jesus) you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

It is, of course, with mixed emotions that we hear of Paige’s passing. We well remember the tribute Paige wrote and dictated at the time of Larry’s passing some years ago. Her passionate words of appreciation for her wonderful husband were a vibrant expression of a deep, deep love for Larry. Her greatest concern was not for herself in that time of grief but for her children – typical of her compassionate spirit. Over the ensuing years Susan has been the best at keeping in touch with Paige and sharing news about the growth and advancement of those children. So, although we haven’t had many opportunities for personal time with Paige, in a small way, we share in the loss of a friend. So, sadness is present with us but we can’t help but shout “Hallelujah” for Paige as she joins with her beloved Larry and enters into the perfect rest of her Savior.
