    Rodgers Family,
I can still hear Aunt Lorene’s laugh very clearly in my head.. I know it has been a long time since we have seen you all, but that doesn’t change the fond memories I have of going to Aunt Lorene and Uncle Gerry’s in Zephyr Cove. She was so inviting, warm and always, always had a huge meal prepared. It didn’t matter how long it had been, she knew everything we were in to and wanted updates directly from us!. It’s not something you recognize as a child, but I now realize how special she made us feel as kids. She was exciting to visit, fun to be around, and the ultimate caretaker. Because of how loved she made others feel, I can’t imagine how painful this loss feels for all of you. I am here if there is anything I can do to support you through this..

I was so nice to reconnect with Lorene over the last two years She was my dad’s cousin and played a big part in helping us reconnect long distance with that side of the family before his passing. I have good memories of visiting them as a child when they lived in Saratoga and as an adult when they lived in Tahoe. I will always remember her grand smile and laugh.

  • I will always remember our visits to Tahoe. We always visited Lorene & Jerry. Bud always considered them his closest family. Uncle Frank & Aunt Em were his second parents. He was so grateful for there role in raising him, teaching him to fish was #1 !We always visit their graves in Tahoe and recall the visits we had with them in Tahoe. We lost Bud in March. I will miss them all.

Aunt Lorene’s smile is burned in my memory. She had such an infectious smile. She was always such a positive person and loved to laugh. I’ll never forget our visits in Tahoe. I remember she’d bring us boiled eggs in the little egg cups for breakfast, it felt like such a treat. She would always make sure we had a good time. She will forever be smiling in my mind. I love you Aunt Lorene. You will be missed.
