Lloyd Samuel Green III

Lloyd Samuel Green III, 44, of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of Lloyd Samuel Green Jr. and the late Margaret Vanover Green.

Lloyd enjoyed and loved the friends and people he met through baseball, music and work.  His people friendly personality was his strength and provided much encouragement.  Lloyd adored his son Samuel who was his pride and joy and was always quick to share a Samuel story or picture.  His quest for knowledge was never ending, he always had some unusual fact or story to tell.  He will be forever loved and missed.

In addition to his father, Lloyd is survived by his son, Samuel Green; his paternal grandfather, Lloyd Samuel Green Sr.; his brother, Ray A. McGuire (Heather) of AZ; his sister, Angela Gooch (Jay) of Simpsonville; and many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held for the family on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: Miracle Hill, Overcomers Program & Center, 1916 N. Pleasantburg Dr. Suite 4036, Greenville, SC 29609.

Sam, my deepest condolences to you and your family on the tragic loss of your son. Many wonderful memories of you and Billy coaching our boys in baseball. I am so sorry for your loss. Lloyd and Maxie were lifelong friends. I understand your pain.

    • We saw N&G when my Grandmother passed in February. It didn’t take long for Maxie & Billy to come up in conversation. We love all of you!!!

  • Sam, our deepest condolences to you and your family. Stephen always enjoyed playing ball with Lloyd and doing things together at church. They are in heaven now throwing balls and having fun with all their MHS friends who are there with them. I know the hole in your life is huge, but hopefully one day you can fill it with happy memories. Dale and Danny Hall

    • Hey Hall Family, a few months ago we created a package in our School of DJs called the Stephen Hall Pass. Each day when I wake up Diabetic, I thank God & Stephen for helping me get through those early years of needles & low blood sugars. We all miss Stephen & I wanted you guys to know that he will not be forgotten!

  • To the amazing Green Family, I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve been searching hard drives for videos, pics and music that Lloyd & I made together over the years. Slowly making progress getting it all in one spot to send over to you.

Like most everyone else, I’m nearly speechless. These last 7-8 years have been challenging to say the least. I always imagined that Maxie, Stephen, Lloyd & others would be around much longer than me. Well…God’s plan was different.

Throughout all the hurdles, Lloyd always celebrated life and what God blessed him with. Lloyd wrote to me once, “I’m going to have a good time until I die!!!” I still believe that. One thing I love about Lloyd, you never knew what was going to come out of his mouth.

Our positive vibrations & prayers go out to Sam & the Green Family, the Burdette Family(my cousins by marriage), the Hall Family & all the other parents of our class mates that have crossed over. I can’t imagine what you have been going through.

Thanks for teaching me so much LSG3. There will never be another you. I’ll see you on the other side. We love you!
