Lloyd Edgar Hugill

Lloyd E. Hugill, 93, of Simpsonville, husband of Jacqueline Motze Hugill for 69 years, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 9, 2018 while surrounded by his family.

Born in Toledo, OH, he was a son of the late Lloyd T. & Lucille Hugill. Mr. Hugill was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Simpsonville. He served our country and retired, after 20 years, from the United States Air Force.

In addition to his wife, Jacqueline, Mr. Hugill is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Sandiford, and her husband, John, of PA, and Tami Flowers and her husband, Tom, of Simpsonville; three sons, Bryan Lloyd Hugill and his wife, Pamela, of Simpsonville, Darryl Leonard Hugill and his wife, Sandy, of NC, and Rustin Lyle Hugill of PA; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Sherman.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor John Heffernan and Pastor and Grandson Zachary Sandiford officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Interment with full military honors will be at 3:00 PM in Graceland East Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: Victory Baptist Church, The Building Fund, 421 SE Main St., Simpsonville, SC 29681.

    Jackie and family, We are so sorry to learn of your loss. Lloyd was a special person. We have many fond memories of time spent with you and Sarah and my mother in PA. Our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to all of you.

    What an absolute honor to have known and be related to this tremendous man.

    Pop-pop, thank you for your example. Thank you for your 93 impressive years of love and service to your maker and Lord, wife, family, and country. And thank you for the laughter too! What a wonderful life you led and everlasting legacy you leave behind.

    Grammy, with this man you created a large family of children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren – We loved him and we love you dearly and will be here for you with prayer, hugs, and anything you need.
