Larry E. Amick

Larry E. Amick, 84, husband of Faye Faulkner Amick, of Simpsonville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Friday, August 6, 2021.  Born in Prosperity, SC, he was a son of the late Mayben E. and Rosabel Shealy Amick.

In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by two daughters, Michele Johnson (Joe) of Piedmont and Rhonda Hupfauer of Simpsonville; ten grandchildren, Jared, Peyton (Tyler), Caleb (Ashley), Gabrien, Haegan, Olivia, Ari, Jacey, Trevor, and Milayna; six great grandchildren, Vic, Luke, Bryson, Ava, Lyric, and Rawlings; two brothers, Don Amick (Petra) and Bruce Amick (Barbara); two sisters, Nell Davenport and Brenda Amick; and numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Armstong and a brother, Carroll Amick.

A Visitation will be at Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. The Funeral Service will be in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Graceland East Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charities promoting clean water or Samaritan’s Purse.

      Oh what a precious, godly man Larry was and how he lived his life for Christ. He raised beautiful daughters and served his wife well. I will miss him!

    I knew Mr Larry from his days at Standing Springs Baptist Church. He was one of 5he kindest and humble men I have known. He will be greatly missed. Praying for his family and friends.

    My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mr. Larry. I knew him from his time at Standing Springs CDC. He was a true gentlemen and just a person to be admired. Loved talking with him and hearing his stories. He will be missed.
