Janie Lydia Cannon Southern

Janie C. Southern, 80, of Simpsonville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 5, 2025.

Born in Westminster, SC, she was a daughter of the late David H. & Bessie Jennings Cannon.

Mrs. Southern is survived by her children, Debbie Bolt and her husband, Ronnie, and Keith Southern and his wife, Melissa; two grandchildren, Maranda Bolt (Blake) Rector, and Cody Daniel Southern; and two great-grandchildren, Nolan and Addilyn Rector.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, one sister, Imogene Cannon Fowler; and three brothers, Howard Junior Cannon, David Harvey Cannon, and Ken Cannon.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 12:00 pm in the Cannon Byrd Funeral Home Chapel – Fountain Inn, 1150 N. Main St., Fountain Inn, SC with Rev. Joel Cannon officiating. Interment will follow in Cannon Byrd Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 am prior to the service.

    So very sorry to hear that Janie had passed away. Known her from our childhood, growing up in Fountain Inn.. For many years, our families were members at Fairview St. Baptist Church. Spent may hours and days camping and fishing with her brother Ken and Nellie Cannon. Jani was a very sweet and lovely lady. I know that she will be missed here on this earth, but is now rejoicing with her loved ones that have gone on. Bless each of the remaining family.     Your loss you will feel for a very long time, she was my friend and my last family member, my partner in crime, We shared many things got in trouble a lot. I’m 80 it want be long till I’ll see her again wondering what we can get into up there???.
