Frederick Tate Rouser Jr.

Tate Rouser, 70, of Fountain Inn, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 5, 2019.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Frederick Tate Rouser and Doris Jones Rouser.

Tate is survived by his wife, Diane Rouser; one son, Seth Rouser, of Rock Hill; two daughters, Krissie Lancaster and her husband, Josh, of Hixson, Tennessee, and Katie Preuss and her husband, Phillip, of Taylors; grandchildren, Jacob, Chloe and Emma Lancaster and Jonah, Gabriel and Grace Preuss; and four sisters, Sandy Dacus, Becky Boyer (Buck), Jan Keith, and Bitten Bortone.

He was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law.

Tate loved God and proclaimed the love of Jesus at any opportunity. He was a faithful Christian husband, father, and grandfather. Despite many hardships in life, he was always upbeat and quick to help others. He made everyone he met feel welcome and at home.

Tate thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and was known for his knack for storytelling. A favorite family pastime was sitting around the table and listening to him recount stories of past experiences in an entertaining way.

Tate was a member of First Baptist Church of Fountain Inn and served as a member of Gideons International for many years.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Cannon Funeral Home starting at 1:30 PM. A celebration of life service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Josh Lancaster officiating.

Burial will be in Cannon Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tate’s honor may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 1025, Fountain Inn, SC 29644.

My heart is so sad to hear this news of my good friend Tate’s passing . I will always remember Tate as a extra hard worker as I spent over twenty years with him Hendricks Builders in Simpsonville. One of Tate’s gifts was prayer , he always took the time to pray over our food when we had lunch together. I know Tate is happy in heaven because that’s where he knew he was going. What a wonderful man he was,I’m so proud to have known him. Diane my prayers are with you and family and know Tate is with his Heavenly Father and at peace.

  • I am so sorry about Tate “Taterbug” I didn’t know until tonight. I am sorry for your loss. I was his cousin and was shocked to hear about his passing. You have my deepest condolences, words cannot touch on the pain you and all your family feels from your loss, but you all will be in my prayers. I learned from Sylvia and she just thought I knew. I had no idea. My brother Ricky Jones and his wife Dawn didn’t know either. I can only say I have been down this road when my husband, Paul died, he was 35. It does get better with the passage of time but until then just take it one day at a time. May God hold you All in the palm 0f his Hand and guardian angels watch over you as you go thru this difficult time. God Bless You All, his cuz, as he called me: Katrina
