Eladio Pedro Bolaños Lloyd

Eladio Pedro Bolaños Lloyd, 90, started his dance with Jesus on Friday, May 15, 2020. His family surrounded him in his last days around the clock.

Born in Callao, Peru, he has traveled extensively with his devoted wife and companion of 58 years, Lois Bolaños. Together, they have been members of First Baptist Simpsonville since 2008. He completed the Pastors Course at Moody Bible Institute, a Bachelors of Divinity at Bethel Seminary and then went on to receive a Masters in Spanish Literature from University of NC and a PhD in Spanish Philosophy from FSU. He spent his career in Christian Education.

Eladio was the eldest brother of 14 siblings. Coming from a large family, he was very social. He could talk to anyone anywhere. He always had a different joke to tell. He was passionate about his faith in God and was eager to share his Jesus with others. Aside from telling others about Jesus, he loved to share what a wonderful wife he had and how he loved to eat her cooking. He was active his whole life playing soccer when he was young and enjoying his grandchildren as he got older. His children and grandchildren learned the most important things in life from him; joy in laughter, loving and dedicated relationship and passion for Christ.

In addition to his wife, Lois, he is survived by his daughters Debbie Searcy (Mike) of Simpsonville and Melisa Chang of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Joshua (Sheila) Purcell, Tyler (Hailey) Searcy, Elijah Searcy, Hannah Searcy, Jacob Searcy, Cameryn Chang and Amanda Chang; great-grandchildren, Peder, Sophia and Isabel; Siblings, Felipe, Guillermina, Mario, Elena, Norma, Margarita, Luisa and Melva.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Victor, Berta, Eduardo, Maria and Alberto.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Operation Orange Ribbon that supports persecuted christians or JAARS, PO Box 248, Waxhaw, NC, 28173 that supports missionaries and bible translation around the world. Eladio and Lois have volunteered with both of these organizations.

A public memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church Simpsonville Chapel, 106 Church Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681. Friends and family are encouraged to leave condolence messages on the online obituary at Heritage Funeral Home.

It was a pleasure meeting Eladio and Lois at a Wheelchair Basketball Tournament where their daughter Melisa manages our grandson’s team. In the short time that we’ve known him, his friendliness and joy shine through with whomever he interacts. Truly a blessing to
    us all!
