Dr. Michael David Nathan
Michael D. Nathan D.O., 78, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025.
He was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey, before settling in Allendale, New Jersey and finally retiring to Simpsonville, South Carolina. After a career as a Pediatrician and Allergy Specialist in Paterson and Passaic, New Jersey for 46 years retiring in 2016.
Beloved husband of Denise Michele (D’Atri) Nathan of Simpsonville, South Carolina; he is survived by and is the loving father of Aubrey Michele Nathan, Justin Anthony Nathan and his wife, Amy Krangle Nathan, and Ashley Marie Nathan; dear brother of Margot Lynn Auslander and her husband, Michael Edward Auslander; and grandfather of Maxwell Ace Nathan and Ryan Jack Nathan.
Michael was an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He loved to play golf, explore new restaurants, and travel the world. He was’ a life-long Yankees and Ohio State Buckeyes fan and an avid fantasy baseball and football player.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation in his name to the American Cancer Society.
Hi Aubrey, when I saw you, and found out about your father, it hit me like a gut punch. I didn’t know Michael personally, but from the conversations we’ve had, I know how much he meant to you, and how deeply you loved and cared from him. The devotion was clear to see, and it spoke volumes about your heart.
I’ve always admired your conviction, strength and your heart, it is something that really stands out, and I hope it can offer you even a little bit of comfort in this time. Please know I’m thinking of you and sending “nothing but love” your way. If there is anything you need, or someone to just sit with, I’m here.
So many years, so many wonderful memories
Michael was a sensitive, caring man with a big, loving heart.
The moment John and I met Denise and Michael, it was an instant and forever bond and friendship.
