Darrell F. Kirk
Darrell F. Kirk, 84, of Piedmont, widower of Louise Kirk, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at the Hospice House of Anderson after suffering a massive stroke.
Born in Greenville, Mr. Kirk was the son of the late John F. & Hulda S. Kirk. He was a member of Georges Creek Baptist Church. After graduating from Parker High School Mr. Kirk enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After proudly serving in the USMC, he had a lifelong career at Perrigo Pharmaceutical Company in Greenville, SC. After retiring, he enjoyed his weekly trips with his buddy Herman “Mutt” Smith to their favorite places to shop, taking care of his yard and watching college football. His favorite subject was talking about his experiences being in the USMC.
Mr. Kirk is survived by his daughter, Cindy Durham and her husband, John; grandsons, Cameron Durham (McKenzie), and Connor Durham; and one sister, Carolyn Tumblin Abbott.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marlene Whitworth and Demaris McAlister.
“The family would like to thank all the staff at AnMed Hospital and The Hospice House of the Upstate – Rainey Hospice House in Anderson for the comfort and kindness they provided for Mr. Kirk and their family.”
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the Shady Grove Baptist Church Family Life building fund, 1201 Shady Grove Rd, Belton, SC 29627. He would have loved to know that he had a hand in constructing a building that will help people grow in faith.
The graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 2:00 pm in Cannon Byrd Memorial Park, 1150 N. Main St, Fountain Inn, SC 29644. The family will receive friends following the service.
