Ms. Hensley, and children and grand children, (Kathryn, Etrulia,Dot, Lewis and Russ. I was saddened to hear the my friend Clyde and passed away. It is always sad news to know that friends that you have know all of you life has been called to depart this life, but so wonderful to know that they are now in a better life than we could ever dream about. I have fond memories of our growing up on the Woodside Mill village. No matter where we go and what we do can ever take that from us. I had not been around Clyde very much in the past years, but our pay would cross from time to time, and we shared happy thoughts from the good old days. I know that all of you will sorely miss,Clyde. I will surely miss him myself. May GOD hold you and keep you, as you go forth. Sending my love and prayers to you all. Your friend in Christ.

I am so sorry to hear of Clyde’s passing. We both graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1962. My most recent memory of him was several years ago when we worked together to reunite our 7th grade class of 1957 at Fountain Inn Elementary. Our Ft. Inn classmates were special that last year and we were sad to leave our familiar surroundings, but excited at the same time to be the first 8th grade class to enter Hillcrest High School. We have also seen each other at our high school reunions. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ comfort you now and in the days ahead.

In Christ, Imo Jean Chapman Woods

To the Family of Clyde Hensley

It is with a heavy heart that my wife and I send our sincere condolences for your loss.
During this difficult time of sorrow, it sometimes helps to remember good times shared.

Clyde was a good friend for more than 30 years. We first met when we both volunteered to teach a training course for nondestructive testing technicians. Clyde had developed a wonderful teaching style that enhanced an understanding of the subject that worked well for the students. I was fortunate that Clyde shared a lot of his teaching techniques with me. After that experience, we maintained a friendly relationship and over the years and continued to be impressed with his dedication and high degree of honesty and integrity.

Clyde and I both began our own training and consulting businesses in nondestructive testing. Clyde began his business several years before me. When I started my business, Clyde was very generous and helpful. He contacted me to share a number of things that he had learned about starting in business.

I feel fortunate to have known Clyde in my life. His friendship will always be a special memory for me. He was a very special person who will be missed by many but never forgotten.

I was so sorry to hear about Clyde. I haven’t seen him in a long time but I think if I am not mistaken he and his family came to New Hope Baptist Church. I was raised on the Mill
Village in Fountain Inn and remember all of the Hensley Family. Kathrine was in my Sunday School Class . Dorothy was the baby . I loved all the people on the village. No nicer people in the world than our Mill Village Family. My heart and love goes out to all of you in this time of sorrow. God Bless all of you.

I knew Clyde through music. I am a musician and I met him when I was about 11 years old, I am 28 now. He ALWAYS treated me exactly how an insecure person like myself should be treated; like a normal person. Around him, I could be myself and he treated me like the most important person in the room. Clyde was a model Christian, friend, technician, and family man. He was always humble, kind, caring, yet appropriately assertive and wise. It was a blessing, privilege, and honor to know Clyde and his family; for they made a huge impact in my life and still do to this day. Rest in peace and God bless. I am proud to know Clyde and his family.
