To Miss Margaret, Nancy, Debbie, Jill, and Charlie, Jordan, and Ben, I along with each of you my heart was broken, when I learned that my friend Charlie had passed away. I have known Charlie since my high school days. I was one of his “soda jerks”, in the Fountain Inn Drug Store for a long time. I think is would be fair to say that we became friend from the time that we met. Charlie was a hard working man, and he taught me a lot about work ethics. We worked many long days in the store. During the time when Fountain Inn was a booming town, that stayed open on week-ends, and some stores were open until 11:30 or later. Many times Charlie and I were the last store to close. Charlie was always a fair man, that treated his customers, that way. I remember Nancy and Debbie, as young ladies, and I would get ice cream, or a coke for them when they came into the store . I have known the family so long that I almost feel like family myself.
May God make smooth the path before each of you during the trying days ahead, I know the sadness that you will have. Just always remember the wonderful times that you have had, and to keep your faith in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, and that some day we will see him again. My love goes with you all. Thanks for always being my friend.
