Cecil Alexander “Sandy” Jamison

Cecil Alexander “Sandy” Jamison, 76, husband of Mary Lou Murray Jamsion, of Simpsonville, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.  Born in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Cecil A. and Eleanor Meem Jamison.

Sandy was a renaissance man and enjoyed a variety of career paths and hobbies.  Early in his career, Sandy worked for General Electric in Cape Canaveral and earned a patch for his work on Apollo 11.  For a short time, he flew an air ambulance for a friend’s company.  He settled into a career as a stockbroker for 10 years but continued to pursue various career opportunities.  Sandy developed a love for woodworking when he renovated their older home.  He honed his finer woodworking skills while working in a cabinet shop and built several pieces of furniture for their current home.  Sandy had many hobbies through the years but had a special love for woodworking and his room size layout for his HO model trains.

In addition to his wife, Sandy is survived by his niece Jessica May and her husband, Lincoln; and two great nephews, Stephen and Andrew Lawless.

A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society of Greenville County, 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605.
