Carol Lee Boyett

Carol Lee Boyett passed away peacefully on July 3, 2022 in Mauldin, South Carolina at the age of 97.  Carol was born and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and after graduating from Girls High School she moved with her family to Miami, Florida.  Carol graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor’s degree majoring in psychology and music.  She was a cheerleader, student government president and homecoming queen at the University of Miami.  Carol spent several years working at the first Burdines department store in downtown Miami where she was head of their personnel department before retiring to raise a family, whom she dearly loved and treasured.  She was a resident of Coconut Grove and Coral Gables, Florida for over 65 years before moving to Simpsonville, South Carolina in 2007.  Carol was a longtime member of Granada Presbyterian Church in Coral Gables. She is preceded in death by her parents Beulah Lee and Benjamin Lewis Turner; brother Benjamin Lewis Turner, Jr.; sister-in-law Nancy Usher Turner; first husband of 36 years, James Van Boyett, Jr.; second husband Lewis Elliott Price, Jr.; and daughter Carol Jane Elliott.

Carol is survived by her children: James L. Boyett (Renee) of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Susan Boyett Reinert (Peter) of Coral Gables, Florida; grandchildren:  James Van Boyett and Danielle Boyett; Hunt Elliott (Jenny) and Ford Elliott (Hilary); Caroline Reinert Trautmann (David) and Kristen Reinert; and great grandchildren Jolie, Wells, Crew, Lleyton, Carlen, Elsie, and Westin Elliott.

The family wishes to thank Deborah Gosnell, Deisi Barahona and her daughter Bessy for their loving care for their mother over the past several years.  A private family memorial service will be held in Simpsonville, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, Carol may be remembered by donating to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate.
