Brenda, Linda and I were inseparable growing up. I remember spending many nights together in their upstairs bedroom of their home across from Avondale post office. I remember waking up to the wonderful smells of bacon, eggs, and coffee wafting up the stairs. Your mom and Linda liked to sleep late, but I was an early riser and Juanita was such a wonderful cook that I crawled out of that bed and went downstairs to enjoy my breakfast fresh and hot! There was a railroad trestle near where I lived on Bulgar Holler Rd in Ellenboro and when they spent nights with me we would go for long nature walks. We would fearlessly walk across that trestle even though it was an active train track and we didn’t know the schedules of the trains. Your mom was the daredevil, and Linda and I just followed her along, not wanting to let her show us up. We went to the church at Grassy Ponds where Uncle Charley and Aunt Winnie went along with Kathleen and all the other cousins. That is where I got saved. I will never forget that night! I loved your mom and dad and all you kids. Time and distance separated us but the love always remained. I will be praying for all of you as you navigate the loss of your precious mom.

    ❤️

  • LaTrail, Gary and all the family. I am so sorry to hear of Brenda’s passing. I realize the pain you are going thru. Virginia, Lorraine and I had so much fun as children playing and visiting at Aunt Nita’s house. I had not seen Brenda in a very long time. I will miss her laugh.
