Billy Ray Bost, 82, of Simpsonville, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022.  Born in Shelby, NC, he was a son of the late Ray O. and Theda Morgan Bost.  Billy left for Parris Island upon graduation from high school and served four years in the marines.  Billy had a variety of jobs during his career, but he was most proud and received the greatest joy from working at the Shriners Hospital as an orthotist.

Billy is survived by a son Billy Bost, II and his wife, Susan; three daughters Laura El-Dier and her husband, David, Shannon Bost, and Cherie Bost; 12 grandchildren, Jackson, Will, Cruz, Brooke, Danie, Abby, Emily, Daphne, Gracie, Jayden, Bralyn, and Trinity; ten great grandchildren; and one brother, Keith Bost and his wife, Edith.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by two grandsons, Andrew and Austin; a brother Ronnie Bost; and a sister Doris Campbell.

A Visitation will be held at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, beginning at 1:00 pm.  The Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 pm.  Billy will be buried in Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park following the service.
