Billy L. Powell
Billy L. Powell, 78, of Spartanburg, husband of Dianne Turner Powell, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018.
Born in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Olin and Edna Powell.
In addition to his wife, Dianne, Mr. Powell is survived by one son Johnathan McCuen II of Pelzer; one daughter, Caroline Bohnenberger (Phillip) of Simpsonville; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Powell; four grandchildren, Brittany Cooke (Chad), Johnathan McCuen III, Annaliese McCuen, and Ellison Bohnenberger; and one great-grandson, James Nova Cooke.
He was preceded in death by one son, Randall Powell; two brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 3, 2018 starting at 2:00 PM at Cannon Funeral Home in Fountain Inn.
A Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Cannon Memorial Park.
So sorry for your loss. I remember Billy fondly from my years of employment at Spartanburg Community College. Heartfelt condolences to your family.

I enjoyed my brief time of working with Billy at the Community College. I also enjoyed seeing and talking with him at the Peach Blossom during lunch on a number of occasions. Always an enjoyable time. Grace to all of you during this time and in the days ahead.

We enjoyed having Billy as a patient for many years, and his visits to the office! His visit always involved talking about Gamecock Football, and the latest political issues! He was a man who you knew exactly where he stood on any topic! We like that in a patient and friend! He was a good man and we count it a privilege to have known him in this life! Our condolences to the family! He is not dead who lives on in the hearts of those left behind!
