Andrew James Ricken

Andrew James Ricken, 35, of Simpsonville, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.

Born in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was the son of Cheryl and Ronald Ricken.

In addition to his parents, Andrew is survived by his two sons, Jeremiah & Gabriel Ricken; his two sisters, Heather Ferreri (Ryan) and Lindsay Larson (Sheila); two nieces, Lyla Ferreri and Stella Ferreri; and his fiancé, Rebekah Rushin, and her two daughters, Star and Sophia.

Andrew had a passion for nature and hiking, which developed into a love for gardening in recent years. He had a very kind and compassionate soul, and often put others first. His laugh was contagious and a reminder of his mischievous and jokester personality. Despite his personal struggles, he has always had a strong love for family and all his children.

Andrew’s family would love for friends and family to contribute to the health of our planet by planting a tree in his honor via alivingtribute.org. By doing so, we can all honor one of Andrew’s favorite places to spend time.

There will be a private gathering for our immediate family on Saturday, August 14th, 2021. Information on a future visitation and service will be provided once finalized.

My deepest, most heartfelt sympathies to you Cheryl and Ronald, and to your family on the passing of your son.
We loved Andrew very much. He is the father of two of our precious grandson’s, and the love of our daughter Rebekah’s life.
Andrew was an extremely intelligent young man, and I cherish the conversations he and I would have. Regardless of life’s struggles, he was an exceptional man, and I loved him as a son. He will be so sorely missed by me…and Rebekah and the children…he will be missed by us all.
All of you, and all of us, will forever be family.
    I Love you.
    Andrew’s future Mother-in-Law,
    Linda Rushin

I went through a program with Andrew back in 2013 or so. He was one of my favorite people to be around. Always made me laugh regardless of my moon. He was a great friend and will be greatly missed
