William David Thrailkill

David Thrailkill came to peace on June 3, 2023 at the age of 72, surrounded by his family.

He was predeceased by his mother, Jacqueline McCurry Thrailkill; his father William Earl Thrailkill; his stepmother Mary Anne Thrailkill; and his step-grandson Miles McMillan Batson.

He is survived by his wife Laurie Schipman Thrailkill; his daughters Jacqueline Thrailkill Batson (Chip), and Clair Thrailkill Ray (Keefe); his grandchildren, Mason William Baird, Cooper O’Keefe Ray, and Quinn McCurry Ray; his brother Stephen Alan Thrailkill (Wendy); his sister Curry Thrailkill Crowson (Kenny); his stepsisters Martha Byrd Fisher and Lori Byrd Bennett (Tommy); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

David graduated from Clemson University in Textile Management, was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order, and was a lifelong Tigers fan. He lived in Greenville, SC, and in Greensboro, NC. He will be missed by very close friends in both towns. He enjoyed playing golf and turkey hunting with buddies. He was fond of cooking and relaxing at the beach with family. David adored his loving wife, Laurie, of 51 years, his children, and his grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Sunday, June 11, at 2:00 pm with a service to follow at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cancer Society of Greenville County.

    So sorry to hear about David. He was a great man,father,husband,brother and friend. We shared some good times together. May GOD sustain all who mourn him with HIS Love and Grace during this difficult time. May his memory be a blessing. RIP David
