William Allen Barrett

William Allen Barrett, 69, husband of Mary Frances Barrett, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 11, 2020.

Born in Charlotte, NC he was a son of the late William D. Barrett and the late Louise McGuirt Barrett. Mr. Barrett worked in construction and operated a handyman service prior to his retirement. He had previously served as an elder at Simpsonville First Presbyterian Church and also as a young man had served our country in the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Hugh William Roach, Jr. (Kristina) of Moore, David Allen Barrett (Linda) of Greenville, William Bryon Barrett of Spartanburg, and Mary Elaine Cohen (Brian) of Simpsonville; grandchildren, Isaac Acosta (Bailey), Teia Rishel (Trent), Parker Roach, Austin Roach, and Zachari Roach; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Kenneth Barrett of Greer; and one sister, Carolyn Louise Greene also of Greer.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda C. Parnell.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Hope Church, 102 John Dodd Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29303 with Pastor Jan King and Pastor Rich Butler officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Those in attendance are asked to please wear a mask and practice “social distancing.”

Burial will be private for the family in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
