Rudolf H. Kahl
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rudolf “Rudy” H. Kahl, who passed away peacefully with a smile on May 26, 2025, in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, at the age of 75. He was surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Rudy was born on September 9, 1949, in Traunstein, Germany, and grew up in Hackettstown, New Jersey. He was a graduate of Hackettstown High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University.
He worked in sales with Leisure Homes, and later in logistics with Wilson Manufacturing and Fehrer Automotive, where he was respected for his dedication, work ethic, and steady leadership.
An avid golfer and long-time member of Fox Run Country Club, Rudy loved all sports and especially football season. His dry sense of humor endeared him to many and will be greatly missed. Rudy was a master at Scrabble and could convince anyone that “scone” is not a word. His love for Debbie really shined as her staunchest 5K cheerleader.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Ronald Kahl, Sr., and his brother, Ronald Kahl, Jr.
Rudy is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Deborah (Debbie) Salley Kahl and fur baby, Dory; his daughter Christine and husband Christopher Casella of Myrtle Beach; his sisters, Alice Kahl and Ann Taylor of Georgia; and Becky and husband Chris King of New Jersey. He is also lovingly remembered by his in-laws: Larry and Sue Salley, Ginger and Mousa Naseri, Beth Taylor, Lawrence and Cindy Salley, and Becky Salley.
He was a beloved uncle to Noah (Kayla), Nadareh (Joel), Aubrey (Josh), Lawrence (L3), Georgia, Jack, and William, and a treasured great-uncle to Gwynevere, Jaleh, and Jamie.
Rudy will be remembered for his steady presence, his deep and loyal love for his family, and the wisdom and humility he carried throughout his life.
A Memorial Service to honor Rudy’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home- Fountain Inn; 1150 N. Main St, Fountain Inn, SC 29644. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his memory to Greenville Humane Society, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or a charity of your choosing.
