Roger M. Cannady
Roger M. Cannady, 87, of Simpsonville, husband of Myrtle Cannady, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017. Roger was born in Simpsonville to the late Manning Cannady and the late Jessie Mae Rodgers Cannady. He retired from Simpsonville Mill after many years in the textile industry and was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Myrtle, Mr. Cannady is survived by two daughters, Sheila Johnson and her husband, Eddie, of Simpsonville and Tracy King and her husband, Buddy, of Westminister; three grandsons, Jason Johnson and his wife, Janet, of Simpsonville, Kaleb King and his wife, Keri, of Walhalla, and Joshua King of Westminister; and two great grandsons, Avery and Jaret Johnson.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cannady was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Johnson; two brothers, Carlos Cannady and Allen Cannady;and two sisters, Louise Hunt and Beatrice Holley.
The family will receive friends at Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at the Simpsonville City Cemetery following the service.
To the Cannady family, so sorry for the loss of your father,grand father. I had known roger for a long time. I know that he will be missed by all that knew him. May God make smooth the path before you in the days ahead, and my God bless each of you.
