Robert “Bob” John Cher

Robert “Bob” John Cher, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025.  He was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Sandra L. Cher; his older brother, Stephen Cher; and his parents, Anna and Steve Cher.

Bob is survived by his sons, Jeffrey A. Cher (Lori) and Kevin R. Cher (Lindsey), along with four grandchildren: Layna, Steele, Zander and Hadassah.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Debra Cher, wife to his late brother, Stephen.

Born in Hammond, Indiana, Bob served 20 years in the United States Air Force to include operations in Vietnam, Japan, and Korea.  He retired voluntarily in 1987 as an E-7 Master Sergeant.

In 1993, Bob became a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Association, Greenville Lodge #858.  Bob proudly volunteered as Lodge Treasurer, Lodge Trustee, Ritual Participant, Ritual Coach, Ritual Judge, Grand Exalted Ruler, 2015 South Carolina Elks Association State President, as well as in many other honorable roles.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home – Simpsonville at 313 North Main Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:30 PM.

Entombment will take place following the service at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
