Rae Belle Roak
Rae B. Roak, 82, of Simpsonville, SC; passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 25, 2018after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born March 21, 1936 in Millis, MA. She was a daughter of the late Albion and Elsie Morris Carlson.
On October 16, 1954 she married her highschool sweetheart Edward Joseph Roak. They made their home in Millis, MA and raised their two children. In 1974 the family moved to Big Rapids, MI. While living in Big Rapids she worked at Ilene Industries, part-time for Michigan Knife Co. and volunteered at the gift shop located in the Big Rapids Hospital. In February of 2000 Rae and Eddie decided to retire and moved to Simpsonville, SC.
In addition to her devoted and loving husband of nearly 64 years, Mrs. Roak is survived by one son, Eddie Roak Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Simpsonville; one daughter Sheila Scott (Kevin) of Glendale, AZ; five grandchildren, Tyler and wife Sarah Roak, Brandon Roak, Selina (Dary) Wright, Eric and wife Yope Scott, and Melissa and husband Jason Crews; seven great-grandchildren, Leah, Micah, Noah, and Isaiah Roak, and Kole, Logan, Scott, and Gunnar Crews; one sister, Lainie and husband Ned Olson; many nieces and nephews; and one special niece, Betty Bodge.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Robert Carlson; and one great-grandchild, Avah Faith Roak.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: The Alzheimers Association or to Open Arms Hospice.
A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date.

time. Rae will truly be missed she was a special lady. She leaves a great legacy in her children and grandchildren. She is with God now, Rest in peace.
