Nellie F. Bridges

Nellie Fay Bridges, 85, of Simpsonville, SC, widow of Julius Martin Bridges, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Willie Mae Robertson.

Nellie is survived by three sons, J.M. ‘Mark’ Bridges (Patricia), Philip Bridges, and Joel ‘Joey’ LaMond; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bobby Reid, and Sue Scott; and one brother, Ray Robertson.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Lee; her grandson, Gregory Brandon Bridges; six sisters, Ruby, Violet, Thelma, Freddie, Betty, and Evelyn, and three brothers, Charles, Jimmy, and L.C.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home; 1150 N. Main St, Fountain Inn, SC 29644. Entombment will follow in Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m.
