Kathryn Ann Davis
Kathryn Ann “Kay” Davis, 83, of Fountain Inn, wife of Tom Davis, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2019. Born in Nashwauk, MN, she was the daughter of the late Steve Stimac and the late Kate Sterbenz Stimac.
Kay, aka “Toots”, grew up in Nashwauk, Minnesota. She had three brothers, Edward, Albert and John, and a sister Mary (Aunt Neen). All are in heaven waiting to see her. After High School she attended St. Cloud State College for 3 years when she had to leave for California to take care of her aunt Mary in Colton. She wound up getting a secretary job at Jack Coyle Chevrolet in San Bernardino, CA. This is where she met Tom her mate for life. They were married October 5th, 1963 and reared four children, Tom Jr., Tim, Katherine and Mary. During the marriage she was a stay at home mom doing the thing she loved, taking care of the family and babysitting the children of friends and neighbors in New Mark. During her 55-year marriage she faithfully followed her Tom across the country, from shore to shore and back during his career with GM, finally retiring in Fountain Inn, SC. During retirement she loved to play the machines at the casino and frequent trips to Biloxi brought her great joy and pleasure. Her other love were her dogs, Charlie and Dundee. She was truly loved by all her friends and her five grandkids, Michael and Maggie Nichols and Mike, Jack and Ben Machesky. She will be truly missed by all she met and loved. Hopefully someday they will find a cure for Alzheimer’s, the disease that took her from us.
There will be a “Celebration of Life” event at the house in the near future when all the family can get together.
Our sympathies on your loss. Kay was an amazing and caring woman.
You were the finest woman, wife, mother and friend. You will be missed. Love you.

Thinking of Toots with fondness. She was my bridesmaid our August wedding in 1957.
Rest in peace.
