Janet Lynn Clark Price

Janet Price, 74, of Simpsonville, wife of Clifton Jay Price, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 12, 2022.

She was the daughter of Rosella Olinger Clark and the late Perry Eugene Clark.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Price is survived by her sons Jason Price and his wife, Vivian, and Kevin Price and his wife, Valerie; four grandchildren, Caleb Jay Price, Jack Ethan Price, Ella Harper Price, and Caroline Cate Price; one brother, Gerald Vincent Clark, her niece, Elizabeth Barrett Miller (BJ), grand-niece Jonah, grand-nephews Alex and Abel, and nephew; Adam Vincent Clark (Valerie).

Janet was a rock of stability for everyone that knew her. Although addressed to Simpsonville, SC since 1978, the majority of her time was spent in, and around, the city of Fountain Inn, SC. She was an active member of the Fountain Inn Presbyterian Church, serving as an alto in the adult choir, in several leadership capacities as a deacon, elder, at-large congregational member. She held roles as an administrative assistant, a volunteer, a Children’s Choir director, Sunday School teacher, a real estate agent, a Greenville County poll Cleark for 20 years, a wife, mother/grandmother/aunt/sister, caretaker, confidant, and essential friend to all.

She was a 1967 graduate of Wilmington High School in Wilmington, OH, attended Ohio State University, and made homes in several other states such as California, Ohio, and Arizona. She traveled the nation widely and throughout other countries around the world. She never met a person that she could not relate to in a unique & special way. She routinely left everyone she met with images of her smile, sounds of her laughter, feelings of her warm hugs, and a memory of her specific points of connection to them.

She was loved by many, will be missed by so many more, and left all who she touched better than they were.

Funeral Services will be held at Fountain Inn Presbyterian Church on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the church in the fellowship hall starting at 1:30 pm. Interment will follow the funeral service in Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park.

For Janet, music was more than just music. It was a way to create, shape, and define life itself. For this reason, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: Fountain Inn Music Club, Attn: Tonya Cary, 15 Shallow Creek Ct., Fountain Inn, SC 29644, (P) 864-430-9189 or electronically via Venmo @fountaininnmusicclub. Funds received will be made available as scholarships through the Fountain Inn Music Club for students wishing to bring music into their lives – just as Janet had done in her own life as well as all of those who she loved so dearly

The service on Monday at Fountain Inn Presbyterian will be streamed at:  https://www.youtube.com/…/UCiM7WpOOjeDqQlcbAUvwkCA/streams

and from the church website: http://www.fountaininnpres.org.

I am so sorry for the enormous loss to the family of Janet’s passing. We don’t understand in this world why/when a loved one changes their address to HEAVEN!

I was fortunate enough to have become more than an acquaintance of Janets when I met her when I joined The Fountain Inn Chorale. She was so nice to me as I started on that adventure!

I met Janet and Cliff almost a year ago at Longevity Pilates. Janet was so kind and friendly to me which meant so much since my husband and I recently moved to South Carolina from out of state. As I got to know this Godly woman, I felt she was a Blessing not only to me but to so many in the community. I am praying for Cliff and the family during this sad time and feel confident I will meet Janet again when the Lord calls me Home.

  • I’m so heartbroken by the loss of Janet. The heavens surely gained an angel. Prayers for the family. I know your faith will get you through this tragedy.

  • What a horrible thing to happen to such beautiful people. I hope the family can take solace knowing death will never separate those two souls. They have a bond that most can only envy.

Dear Cliff, Kevin, Valerie, Jason, Vivian, and family,
There are no words to express how I feel. My heart hurts deeply for you. Having worked with Janet for 25+|~ years, I knew she loved her family more than anything. She spoke of each of you often. She loved bringing her grands to our pond in TR years ago, and all caught fish! It was a great memory for her.
I have many wonderful memories of Janet, one of my favorites being a trip to NYC with Cliff and Janet in 2005. Many many laughs! Her smile was contagious and she was always one of my favorite people to be around.
I will keep you all in my prayers. Janet is using her beautiful voice to sing praises to her Savior. Maybe she and my mom have sung a duet already! ❤️

    Dear Cliff,

Like so many others, shock and sadness were our initial reactions when we first heard about Janet’s passing. Lauretta and I are so sorry Cliff, as you and your entire family deal with your terrible loss of Janet. She was such a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. All of us who were blessed to know her can attest to her kindness, her easy smile and quick sense of humor. We all will feel her loss for quite some time.

Thankfully, though, we can also attest to the fact that she had accepted Jesus’ gift of salvation and was open about her faith. Therefore, although we surely grieve her loss, we are thrilled to know that she instantly passed from this world into the loving arms of her Father in heaven. Nothing gives more peace than this sustaining assurance.

Lauretta and I grieve with you, Cliff, and are praying for your physical and emotional healing. We are both sorry that we are unable to be with you today due to prior commitments. Just know that we love and support you during this difficult time.

Dr. and Mrs Timothy G. Cross

Our community has suffered a great loss, but, Cliff and family, we cannot imagine the loss that is yours. Please know that our thoughts and prayers for God’s comfort are with you this afternoon and in the days ahead.
Janet was Co-Chair of the Music Club’s Tour of Homes, and she and I worked on it for years at this season. She was the perfect co-worker — dependable, dedicated to the task, wise in her counsel, witty and always pleasant. We all loved her, leaned on her, and, oh, how we miss her.
