James Wendell Satterfield, Sr.
Wendell Satterfield, 78, of Gray Court, widower of Carolyn Smallwood Satterfield went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
Born in Laurens, he was the son of the late Berry Lee & Olivia Davis Satterfield. Mr. Satterfield was a long-time member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He graduated from Gray Court Owings High School and Greenville Technical College. He served for two tours of duty in Vietnam in the United Sates Army. He retired after 41 years of work service from CeramTec in Laurens.
Mr. Satterfield is survived by three sons and their wives, James W. Satterfield, Jr. (Phebe), Parrish Satterfield (Lory), and Phalen Satterfield (Sarah); five grandchildren, Trae Satterfield (Carley), Erin Ross (Davis), Isaiah Satterfield, Peyton Satterfield, and Emma Claire Satterfield; five great-grandchildren, Holly, Daniel, and Ezekiel Ross, Eliza and Suzanna Satterfield; and two sisters, Linda Eubanks, and Aquilla Cole (Rev. William Cole).
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Samuel Satterfield; and one brother-in-law, James Eubanks.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 2:30 pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1279 S. Frontage Rd., Fountain Inn, SC 29644. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Park, 5740 US-76, Laurens, SC 29360.
The family will receive friends at the church starting at 1:00 pm.


Wendell and I worked together at 3M, GE, and Ceramtec for decades. We frequently traveled together all over the US, Canada, and Mexico.Always a great partner and knowledgeable business man. I was so fortunate to have worked with such a great guy.
