Herman D. Lee
Herman Devine Lee of Greenville, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the age of 96, after a year-long illness.
He was born in Quitman, GA, on June 4, 1926, and grew up in Greenville, SC. Herman served for 20 years in three branches of the military: the Navy, Army, and retired from the Air Force as a Master Sargent. He served during WWII, Korean, and Vietnam wars. Later, he was employed at Kennedy Space Center in the Aerospace program, working on the Apollo through the Shuttle programs.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Michelle Vlaich-Lee, his nieces Martha Simmons and Sara Carol Hunt (Paul), and his nephew Donald Lee. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Robert Edward Lee and Julia Taylor Lee.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Hospital.
