Grace Sease Harter
Mrs. Grace Sease Harter, 86, of Ehrhardt, South Carolina and longtime resident of Summerville, South Carolina, entered into rest Wednesday afternoon, January 27, 2016, surrounded by her loving family in her son’s residence in Simpsonville, South Carolina while under the care of Gentiva Hospice. She was the widow of Mr. Gary E. Harter, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 o’clock Monday afternoon, February 1, 2016, from Ehrhardt Baptist Church, 427 Allen Street, Ehrhardt. The Reverend Kelly Shanks, officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Ehrhardt Cemetery.
Born April 3, 1929 in the Lodge community of Colleton County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Courtney Sease and the late Delle Cone Sease. Having attended Ehrhardt School and Dranghon Business College, she was a retired office manager of Belk Hudson Department Store in Walterboro. She dearly loved book keeping, and continued to engage in this activity until the age of 83. She was a member of the Ehrhardt Baptist Church.
Surviving are: her son, Gary M. Harter and his wife Bobbi of Simpsonville; and a brother, Wallace Courtney Sease and his wife Gloria of West Palm Beach, Florida. There are two granddaughters, Stephanie Nicole and her husband Joe Moreland, and Melissa A. Doyle and Scott Pfarner; and a grandson, Marshall Harter; as well as her special friends, Emily Watts and Barbara Smith of Summerville. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Dianne Harter; and a brother, Clarence Sease.
