Gloria Ann Stewart

Gloria Ana Stewart, 83 of Simpsonville, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024.
Born in Havana, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Mario and Pilar Zanetti
She is survived by her four children- Gloria Cessor, Margaret Carmichael, Deborah Carmichael, John Carmichael and Heather Carmichael as well as, her seven grandchildren and her loyal cat Handsome.

Some of Gloria’s accomplishments include
the brave transition to Florida at 18 years old from Cuba.
Gloria was also a Breast Cancer Survivor and Advocate, never did she let cancer keep her from smiling.

Gloria Stewart enjoyed spending time with family and her grandchildren. She loved spending holidays and birthdays with family, since these usually ended with a piece of her favorite chocolate cake.

Gloria’s favorite hobby was sewing, including teaching her granddaughters to sew. Some of her granddaughters’ fondest memories include helping them each sew their own quilt with her help and expertise. Another favorite pass time included just simply walking around stores with her grandchildren making them laugh at her horrible jokes. Gloria had a dry sense of humor that would come out of the blue and make you belly laugh for an hour.
Gloria was a selfless and caring mother and grandmother. Due to these qualities, she earned the nickname “Grandma Goose”.

Gloria’s favorite animal was a Butterfly. When her family sees a butterfly, we now know it’s her saying hello.
As a family, we’re grateful that she was finally able to receive her butterfly wings and find the love of her life- her late husband John Edward Carmichael.

Rest in Peace Gloria. You will always be in our hearts.
