Eddy Sargent

Eddy Sargent, 72, of Gray Court, loving husband of Karen Lynn Sargent for 52 years, loving father to Stephanie (Shane) & Ally and an awesome PaPaw to Shane (Tessa) & Briggs, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

Born in Rosman, NC, he was the son of the late Ann Galloway Harvey and late step-father, James Harvey.

In addition to his wife, Karen, Mr. Sargent is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Thurston and her husband, Shane, and Ally Sargent; his grandson, Shane Thurston Jr and his wife, Tessa, and their son Briggs, his “granddogs” Brewer, Sofie, and Alfie, and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

After 5 years in the US Army serving his country, Eddy dedicated over 20 years to Gunter Heating & Air.

There wasn’t a room that didn’t light up with his amazing smile, especially with his wife and best friend by his side. His family was his world, and he never missed an opportunity to spend as much time with them as he could. He loved sports and especially enjoyed watching the Tigers and the Braves.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10:00 am at Tremont Church of God, 2854 New Easley Hwy, Greenville, SC 29611 with Pastor Eddie Allen officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tremont Church of God.

Words cannot express how much Eddy means to me since he became part of our family as a young man of 14. His smile would warm the coldest heart. His love for his family was exemplary as he lived a life of giving even when he was unwell himself. My love and prayers are yours as you navigate your lives until reuniting in Eternity together again!
