Doris Odell Jones

Doris Odell Jones, age 77, widow of the late Raymond “Rattler” Jones, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Odell Jerome and Carrie Vaughn Barton. She was a member of Fork Shoals Baptist Church and was formerly employed with the Greenville County School System.

Mrs. Jones is survived by a daughter, Diane James and husband Ricky; a sister, Joyce Chappell; two brothers, Fred Barton and John Robert Barton; two grandchildren, Dustin James and wife Elizabeth Berry James, and Misty James; and four great-grandchildren, Alexandrea Brooklyn Tripp, Catherine Diane Tripp, Peyton Elizabeth James, and Tanner Reid James. She was predeceased by five sisters, Easter Robertson, Annie Bell Collins, Bertha Hipps, Edna Griffith, and Mildred Brown.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Cannon Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Cannon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Cannon Funeral Home prior to the service.
