Debra R. McManis
Debra Rose Masters McManis, 65, of Greenville, SC, wife of Steven P. McManis, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Kathleen Redman Masters.
In addition to her husband, Debra is survived by her daughter, Ellianna McManis Shipp (Austin); and two brothers, Kevin Masters (Stacie) and Keith Masters (Deanna).
Debra was a devout Christian, deeply loving mother and wife, and adoring mother-in-law to her son-in-law Austin. This love for others extended into a 10-year career as a registered nurse before transitioning into a stay-at-home mom. Debra homeschooled Ellianna and her contributions to homeschooling extended to the local community where she taught a variety of classes at several different co-ops. Throughout her life she enjoyed Biblical studies and had a persistent love of learning. She also enjoyed painting, traveling, completing a new jigsaw puzzle, reading, and spoiling her dogs.
Most importantly, Debra’s life was defined by her selfless love for others; she had a God given gift to find greater purpose and hope in every situation.
Private services will be held for the family on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
Every association I had with Debra showed her loving heart. She raised a lovely daughter who will sorely miss her. She was the quintessential Proverbs 31 wife and mother. I’m glad my family was blessed to be loved by her.
Ellie, what an honor to call your Mom friend. She really is the first person I could call friend after moving to SC in 2013. Right now my eyes are swollen from crying at knowing of the loss of my sweet, sweet friend. She was and still is a Mighty Woman of God. She is now rejoicing in the Lord her savior! I only wish I could have done more for her and with her. We had some great times together. Love you – praying for you and your Dad. Your Mom was a treasure in this world, now she is a treasure in heaven❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
